So sad. I've had the pleasure of meeting & talking with John Hughes on mutiple occassions. He was a kind, quiet man who was always willing to talk movies with me whenever he came into the Barnes & Noble I used to work at back in the day. Ferris Bueller, Weird Science, Uncle Buck, & Planes, Trains, & Automobiles were some of my favorite movies growing up & remain so to this day. There will never be another filmmaker who so easily captured the essence of life growing up in the Chicago burbs.

R.I.P. John.

Yes, he made SO many great movies...you pull up his directography and you sit there thinking "Wow...that's a great one. That's a great one. That's a great one...I didn't know he made that one..." His movies were always (at least the ones i saw) smart and funny.

Tough summer for Macauley Culkin (Michael Jackson, now Hughes).

I never knew he wrote Home Alone. I loved that movie. Too bad. There should be a Breakfast Club reunion.
