Every system that can be exploited for abnormal profit, will be.

No one exploited the Rooney Rule, because it didn't offer to pay anyone off with monetary nor other compensation, it just required that a minority candidate be given at least a chance, before a HC hire is made.

Stupid people are in charge, everywhere, and they implement stupid systems, and then enforce zero accountability on the people that cheat said systems.

Need leaders in charge who are willing to make the law, and, swing the axe, if you wanna make progress on an issue like racial inequity in the NFL.

NFL has crusty old, white, owners (mostly), so the values of the NFL will continue to reflect that, until they change (they won't) or they are gone (they aren't leaving).

The flaw in that system is that NFL teams could choose not to hire away minority candidates, in order to deprive other teams of draft pick compensation.

There are flaws in this system as well, but I certainly hope it works.

And I'll stand on my soapbox any time I fucking want.

The Rooney rule does allow some candidates that have never gotten into interviews to do so. Its not a complete waste

The problem is built off the premise that coaches and execs need to align with the color of players in the league.

If you encourage more black coaches in college, you'll get them in the pros.
