my title is misleading...my mistake.

The ball in question was fouled, but then bounced back into play. Josh Hamilton grabbed it and threw it in the stands, which is where the tragic incident occurred :(

Anyone remember when the fan fell in Texas last year, the only video from the incident is the Umps reaction, as u can tell he saw it happening.

Ugh...yeah that's one of those things that you don't really wanna show.

Though why they ever showed things like Shaun Livingston and Andrew Bogut injuries is beyond me...

This is on another level though.

it also is against MLB rules to throw a ball into the stands... its never enforced though

Though I agree, they really need to have a higher fence or something...a 10 year old could fall over that gate.

Geez. I hate freak accidents. This needs to be shown, not at all for entertainment purposes, but to educate fans.

Sad...very sad...wish stuff like this was preventable... :(

Fan dies after falling from stands at Rangers game - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

Not necessarily a plug for Wrigley...but maybe nets in front of first rows isn't a bad universal idea.
Prayers for F&F...

Not your fault, Hamilton :(

Fans are what caused wrigley to put up baskets in the outfield.

I am actually shocked this doesnt happen more often.

God, to read his younger son was right there just gives me the chills. I feel so bad for everyone involved, especially his son. Life is so precious. One minute you are enjoying the game and getting a foul ball which im sure he was going to give to his son, and than all of a sudden a life has ended and 100's of people are affected.

This is not something the Hamilton did, or caused. I know he is recovering from past demons, and i really hope this doesnt trigger a relapse.

RIP, and god bless the family. im sick over this.

A lot of teams seem to have like an awkward 3 foot gap between the rail and the actually wall. The Rangers obviously have it and some of the Cell is like that, im sure its like that in other stadiums. Those should prolly be filled or something so that doesnt happen, at least netting or something.
