The thing I've enjoyed most about the NHL HBO 24/7 series was watching Washington deal with a 9 game losing streak. Just seeing how the dressing room was following loss after loss... everyone completely demoralized and confused. Coaches going from angry to gentle in hopes they find the right mixture to inspire the players out of the streak. It gave so much insight as to how easy it is to fall into a slump and how hard it is to break out of it.
Momentum in hockey is a crazy thing, whether its from period to period or game to game. The Red Wings aren't as good as their home winning streak indicates and the Hawks aren't as bad as their losing streak says they are.
Streaks are weird. I'm glad the Hawks' streak is done. You know that they learned a lot from it and maybe it even brings them closer as a team. Wishful thinking, I know.
