Recent Former Bears Playing Elsewhere

I keep surprisingly hearing recent former Bears names called watching other games.
Alex Bars is starting for Raiders on OL and Duke Shelly plays for the Vikes,
both are better teams than the Bears. I know I've heard several others
this year but can't recall all of them.
I'm not talking about further back like Leno or the trades of "D' name guys,
just guys that for whatever reason weren't deemed good enough but other
teams start or give significant playing time to.
Help me out - name all you can remember? Are Bears worse at this than most teams?
Even good teams have rent-a-players.

There's a dude named Roquan Smith that playing well for the Ravens.

James Daniels has gotten 100% of the snaps in Pittsburgh.

Bilal Bichols is getting decent amount of snaps for the Raiders.

While he is only a STs player at the moment, I'm personally mad the Jaguars poached Caleb Johnson from us. I would have liked to see if he could have contributed with all the injuries along the LB core.
Roquan, his “agent” Saint Omni, his $20 million per year contract demands(lol) and his rape accusations go can **** off.

Duke Shelley and the Vikings pass defense? Is this a joke? Now would be a good time to walk this back.

Anyone know how James Daniels is playing now? I know Steelers fans hated him earlier in the year.

If we're going to pine for former Bears can we at least pine for ones that are good instead of roster churn like Hhroniss Grasu and Duke Shelley?

Lol imagine pining for Tonga. Just another guy only playing 33% of the snaps for a defense that just might be as bad as the Bears defense. Not to mention he plays in 3-4 and is a terrible fit for the 4-3. Get a grip people. He’s simply not a good player no matter what grade PFF gives him. He’ll be a FA again this off-season.

Hard disagree here. 4-3 defenses can still use a run stuffer DT, and Tonga was very good at absorbing double teams on interior runs.

He'll probably play in the NFL for a long time as a run stuffing DT (barring injury).

Meanwhile, teams are constantly busting huge runs up the middle against the Bears because there's literally no one on the DL they have to double team, allowing them to immediately get an OL to the second level.

And put him in and since he has zero pass rush ability, they just spread you out and throw the ball. He’s a run specialist that wouldn’t result in any meaningful difference in this team’s fortunes. Bears would still be 3-12with him on the roster and teams would still buttfuck this defense in both the run game and pass game.

Not everyone has to be the guy getting pressures and sacks in a pass rush. A DT that can get push up the middle and prevent the QB from stepping up in the pocket is still useful.

And Tonga is getting about 40% of the defensive snaps at DT for a team that's 12-3. You really think he wouldn't be getting snaps on the Bears' dumpster fire DL?

I think you drastically overrate the Vikings defense. They don’t get pressure and can’t get off the field. They are all smoke & mirrors and are looking at a 6-11 record next season. They might stop the run better but who cares when opposing QB’s light you up on a weekly basis.

Tonga on the Bears - 3-12
Tonga not on the Bears - 3-12

He’s just another guy that doesn’t make a difference

The Bears are tanking this year anyway, so I don't really care about whether a good run stuffing DT might have made the difference in the close games against the Lions and Falcons.

My point is that Tonga is a solid DT who will play in the NFL for a long time and should have never been cut (and don't complain about scheme fit, 4-3 defenses can use a run stuffer as part of their DT rotation, too).

We’ll just agree to disagree. He’ll probably be available in March as well.

I wasn't trying to pine for the players just curious if we aren't as good at evaluation as we need to be. I always thought Bars would make it not Musty.
