Barring severe injuries, is there any reason Caleb Williams doesn't break at least one if not multiple rookie records this season??

Two great WR, Two good TE, good running game, Successful offensive coaches, strong defense that creates turnovers....

I don't see any reason he shouldn't top many of the following records considering he also will be playing in a 17 game season.

Yards: Luck 4374, Herbert 4336, Stroud 4108

YPG: Herbert 289, Stroud/Luck 273

TD: Herbert 31, Mayfield 27, Manning/Wilson 26

CMP% Prescott 67.8,

Rating: Prescott 104.9, Griffin 102.4, Stroud 100.8

Avg: Stroud 8.2, Griffin 8.1, Prescott 8.0

Any predictions on what we can expect from 2024 Caleb Williams grand entrance to the league?

So... 4600 yds 275avg 8.2 ypa 30 TD & 10 Int...?

That wouldn’t only be the best season for a rookie qb, but it would be the best season for a bears qb.

By comparison, for the first several weeks of Fields' rookie year, many posters' expectations were that "Fields get in & out of the huddle okay," and "getting the cadence right."

Why do we have sky-high expectations for CW?

Why do I get the feeling this post was made just to set the stage for being negative about Williams if he doesn't have a record setting rookie season as opposed to genuine excitement about the possibilities.

If I'm wrong apologies but as we all know there are a multitude of possibilities outside of his control that can result in him not living up to expectations especially in his rookie year. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a great QB that is great despite his offense coaching. I'm optimistic but I didn't think we know what we have there yet.

I'm really high on Williams at this point but I don't have a great feel for how this offense will be run and how much they will try to protect him his rookie year and keeping the offense run heavy and /or quick pass game heavy vs opening the offense and letting him put up numbers. I think any kind of great expectations stats wise his rookie year are not fair to anyone.

I don't expect CW to break rookie records or hit 4k passing yards, but 3,500 is not uncommon these days. Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Trevor Lawrence all did it. The latter two were on the worst teams in the league the year prior.

Justin Fields has never broken 3k. The point is, use a little objectivity and don't defend shit play.

You are pointing out objectively? You could see litteral shit in a rainbow 🌈 where there are no brown colors. Despite disagreeing with you I liked you before because you showed heart for people but your constant negativity regardless of the facts over the last year+ has made it hard to take anything you say serious.

Also Fields is no longer on the team you don't have to make every conversation about him anymore. To your point 3,500 is probably reasonable but as I stated there are many more factors in play than just his play.

I would say the only reason would be is if he sucks. Everyone has crowned him already.

But he still still come in and play like Tim Couch or Ryan Leaf or Akili Smith or JaMarcus Russell or David Carr.

And that is just #1's. Id argue the top #5 picks in every draft have busts in them.

So he could bust. It's a good thing there isn't any crap with Williams. He seems like the perfect fit for any NFL team and he will fit right in with whatever culture the Bears have going on. He hasn't shown any diva traits or anything.

My guess is 5000 yds
40 TDs
6 INTS
5 rushing TDs

And when it's all said and done 7 Superbowls. I don't even need to see him play. He is that good. I've never seen a better QB ever. I'm just so thankful the Bears get him because the Bears are probably the best at developing QBs.

The only record I want Williams to break is number of Superbowls won in a season.

It would be cool if he had the numbers suggested in the OP, but if him being eased into the NFL as a game manager type QB his rookie season keeps him from having great numbers, I won’t criticize him for it.

My criticism will be if the team doesn’t have a playoff run this upcoming season with the talented team that’s been assembled.

One of the most important records I want him to break is starting every game of the fkn season. What has it been, over a decade since that last happened? Longer? I know it was Cutler. And I think he only did it once.

Why do we have sky-high expectations for CW?

Cause he's allegedly viewed as 'head & shoulders' above the prior Qb.

My expectation is that he will look like a rookie. Bit of a roller coaster type year where he flashes greatness and also makes some dumb mistakes at times. What does that look like numbers wise? I have no clue. Alot of people claim it's easy to see who has 'it' so I hope we see that, whatever IT is.
