Call of Duty: Black Ops grossed more than $650 million worldwide in its first five days of sales, Activision announced.
The game by Treyarch shattered five-day sales records for movies, books and videogames.
Previously, Activision reported, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 grossed $550 million in its first five days. At the time, that was a record as well.

Sadly no matter how much money we throw at them they will not make a better multilayer game than CoD4... heck even Cod2's multilayer tops every game since it release except 4.

When will Ubisoft give us another Rainbow Six game?

I will truly never understand the hype for Call of Duty games. They aren't bad games, but I've never found them to be so groundbreaking as to justify the pre-sale madness MW2 and Black Ops got.

Then again, I'm not really a shooter guy to begin with. Except for Half-Life.

I actually like Black Ops more than COD4. I hated the super powered grenades in that game. I bought it, ranked up to level 17 and then traded it in.

I am completely addicted to Black Ops multiplayer. I'm a Tribes, UT and Quake kinda guy. Deathmatching was the first online MP and that's what I cut my teeth on. I'm more of a fan of capture the flag at this point after getting into UT heavily when it first came out.

I think the campaign in Black Ops is around a 75/100. Medal of Honor blows it away in that aspect. The MP though I'd give a 99 if they'd fix the server problems. It is incredibly deep and has more features and game types than just about any MP I can think of.

The zombie game too has been hugely expanded from World at War. It's pretty much a game unto itself.

I love that you can play split-screen and online simultaneously. Every game should offer that.

Right now I'm dying 3 times more than I'm killing but I've been out of the loop on this kind of gameplay for a long time and have only been really playing for the last couple of days.

Battlefield is pretty awesome too.

For the most part I'm not impressed with multiplayer games added on to single player games so this is an exception. Halo never did anything for me. Those games should not have been about MP.

IMO Black Ops was a letdown. I still prefer to play MW2, or would probably even prefer CoD4 over it. I may buy it after Christmas if I can find a cheap used copy.

You must've been corrupted by the cheapness of MW2. By far the most imbalanced shooter of all time. I don't know how anyone still plays that game.

Well, I only play hardcore modes so a lot of the cheap stuff doesn't get used (especially people using marathon/lightweight/commando). I just feel like MW2 plays smoother and is more fun. The Ps3 connection issues with Black Ops kind of hurt it, too. I play over at my buddy's house and it seems like we are constantly getting kicked from games and having laggy connections. I've read a lot about the issues online as well.

I figured they'd have fixed the networking issues but it seems to get worse and definitely hurt it. I hate that I can find a group of really good gamers to play with and get into a few very competitive matches and then see the dreaded "host migration". It's crap and ruins the experience.

Yeah. The host migration is definitely broken. When I was playing a lot more it was before the patch that was supposed to fix the connection issues and any time I was in a party with friends I we would always randomly get disbanded. It was aggravating, to say the least.

I know MW2 needed some patches at first too, so hopefully Treyarch get it sorted out. There's just something I don't like as much about the Treyarch CoD games. I feel like Infinity Ward was just a far better company who made a better game. Too bad Activision screwed them over royally and half the employees quit.
