Call of Duty: Black Ops grossed more than $650 million worldwide in its first five days of sales, Activision announced.
The game by Treyarch shattered five-day sales records for movies, books and videogames.
Previously, Activision reported, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 grossed $550 million in its first five days. At the time, that was a record as well.

- Rusty Axe Games announced the alpha playable release of its free brower game Dungeon Brawl - Proving Grounds. Check it out at www.RustyAxe.com/bgames/DungeonBrawl/index.
- Ubisoft announced downloadable content for its game R.U.S.E. The Manhattan Project Pack will be available free in December through Steam, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. The pack will offer three new multiplayer maps and two additional multiplayer modes.
- Two expansions are either out or coming for Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim from Paradox Interactive. First, Battles of Ardania offers a new single-player campaign in which players defend their borders from a mage/werewolf force. In Monster Kingdom, releasing Dec. 7, the king has been driven from his throne and must do whatever it takes to get it back.
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit now is available from Electronic Arts and Criterion Games. The game features a social networking element called Need for Speed Autolog that connects players with friends by automatically tracking and comparing each person's performance.
