Hey everyone. I have one more "secular" post to make and again, I apologize if this is not a popular thread. I was just wondering what everyone thought.

Kush77 said something in a post that made me wonder.

Are there any records right now you think will be broken in the next 5-12 years?

I agree with Kush77 - if LeBron remains healthy and keeps at this, he will top Kareem and will become the all-time leading scorer in the NBA's history.

But what about other records?

I can see Ray Allen topping Reggie Miller in the all-time 3's made category.

Which other records WILL be broken and by who?

How close to Reggie is Ray right now?

Didn't Ben Gordon become the youngest player with X amount of 3 pointers? I remember reading something like that on here.

Most three pointers in the first five years of an NBA career.

1. Ben Gordon - 770 (41.5%)
2. Nick Van Exel - 750 (36.4%)
4. Ray Allen - 699 (40.0%)
9. Kirk Hinrich - 639 (37.7%)
23. Reggie Miller - 550 (38.2%)
84. Mark Price - 358 (41.8%)
95. Hubert Davis - 333 (42.9%)

I included Price and Davis on there, as they're the only guys in the top 100 that have a higher three point % than Gordon.

^And yes, that's the guy who can't get invited to the three point contest, despite publicly asking to be invited to the event.

Gordon could break the all time 3 point record if he plays long enough. The thing that makes it a tough record is that Reggie Miller played forever as an integral member of his team. The longevity will make it tough for anyone to break the record.

Ben is five years deep and 26 years old. Another five and he's 31 with roughly 1500 makes. Another 5, he's 36 and with approx 2200. Reggie has 2560, so unless Ben increases the amount of attempts, I don't think he'll catch it.

Obviously, I'm just using his current rate of production and attempts to predict the total. For all I know, he could come in next season and make 230 shots from behind the arc and finish the year having knocked down over a 1000 makes in his career.
