I agree. I just hope they don't spoil it with the "modern touches".

Vigo Mortenson would also be a good candidate, As well as Josh Brolin. Not sure who you're reffering to in the Batman movies? Gordon?

Viggo is a good mention. He'd be a really good fit for the role. I'd prefer Brad Pitt though. Seems like a story and role that he'd be perfect for.

I really hope this movie gets done, and above all else, done properly.

Viggo would be the best choice out of the ones mentioned. Anyone seen the movie The Road? Damn good. Viggo could play Martin Luther King and he'd be great at it. With Pitt I can only imagine him doing his Aldo Raine voice from Inglorious Basterds (love that movie BTW). I'm sure he'd still do fine though. Christian Bale wouldn't be that bad of a choice either. He was pretty good in 3:10 to Yuma. As was Russell Crowe.

You're damn right, man. The Road was an amazing movie, yet so few have watched it. Maybe it's a bit too disturbing to appeal to most? Viggo is definitely one of the most underrated actors of this generation.

Any one of the four would be awesome as Marsten.

Yeah I was looking through a Red Box in front of a Walgreens where I live and saw The Road was one of the titles in it. I had completely forgotten about the movie because it received so little attention. I remember hearing about it when it was being made and thought it was going to be a big hit. More people should go out and rent it and watch it. Very emotional movie. Viggo should've won at least one award for his acting job in it, but got none. That's a crime if you ask me.

If Joaquin Phoenix wasn't currently Special person, I think he would be a decent Marston, based only on the fact that he and Marston almost have the same voice.

The looks are something that might need some work...

I have been hearing Sean Penn's name thrown around in a few places. I just cant see him playing Marsten.
