They could only draw 7,121 to opening day... nobody cares for the franchise and they are the Phoenix Coyotes of MLS, only worse.

We can go add New York City FC or whatever NY2 gets named, but why not make arrangements for the Chivas to play in some test markets the next two seasons under a new brand and then move into Orlando's new stadium they are having built when it is done?

Works perfectly, you get the second New York team, get rid of a trouble franchise without contraction, and then you also can get a feel for how other markets such as Atlanta would fare with an MLS team as an audition for a future expansion franchise. Obviously they wouldn't be as committed to the test team, but you can keep that in mind as you analyze it.

They should put a team in St. Louis.

They should put a team in St. Louis.

Not yet though, maybe after they get a stadium plan, Orlando's made great progress towards getting their's built already, and Minnesota should be next in line with the possibility of a shared new stadium with the Vikings.

St. Louis needs to get an NASL or USL-Pro team and build a fan base first though, then they'd be under more serious consideration (they've gotten close in the past but ultimately missed out), like Indianapolis is doing now.

At the very least, RENAME Chivas USA!

YES! Definitely, I absolutely can not stand that name. Not only are they a drag to the league, but if the goal is to market to a Hispanic audience, naming it after a team that only some Mexicans like and the rest hate is nothing but a ploy to market Vergara's Chivas brand in the US, and it sounds minor-league-ish and doesn't even have a city or state in its name. Worst name and worst franchise in any major league sport.

I also HATED the FC Dallas and Sporting KC rebranding and the Euro-infused expansion names (Toronto FC, Real Salt Lake). I liked having American sounding names for out teams, gave our league an American identity (with the exception of DC United).
