Removing White Background from a pic

What you want is a transparent background. I was trying to get one for the picture I have now but I don't have photoshop. The person who shopped this picture for me was unsure how make it transparent since she just got photoshop recently.

So instead I duplicated the color of the background(in paint) that the avatar picture shows on so it appears it doesn't have a background. Just another route you could go.
