Just curious, have you watched the Niners play this year?

I always liked Fales as a prospect, and I never thought the current staff gave him enough of a chance.

Last year, he missed the entire training camp with an illness, then played extremely well in the preseason, then got placed on the practice squad, then got moved up to the active roster very late in the season when the Patriots tried to sign him, then never actually got any playing time in a regular season game even though the season was basically over.

This year, the staff seemed determined to relegate him to 3rd or 4th string and barely even played him in the preseason.

Fales sounds great to me. Always wanted to see him in a real game. He may not be the answer but I think he will be fun to watch. Much more then Barklee ( no need to spell his name right). Fales to me is a guy that competes.

They should've stitched it on his name plate permanently after Fales was cut the first time.

I wish we'd have kept fales as the back up, but ultimately I really wish that Shaw hadn't gotten hurt. he seemed to have a different command of the huddle that we haven't seen in quite awhile. Of course that was all over a very small sample size and both of these guys could turn out to be chumps by NFL standards.

Fales and Barkley has to be the most uninspiring one-two punch at the QB position ever except maybe Curtis Painter/Dan Orlovsky when the Colts were tanking for Luck.

Either way it will be better then watching Barkly and I think fitting Fales gets in a real NFL game. Shit 3 years on the bench deserves a Rudy.

It would be great if he earns the opportunity to be a stop gap next year. This year's QB class is so weak, it would be great if he could hold us over until next year's draft.

It would be great if we don't need a stopgap next year.

The Bears are the most unimaginative team on the face of the planet. Starting (Hoyer) and backup (jay) QBs both injured, 2-8 lost season, here was a chance to be bold and go big.
