I'm scared to believe this kind of news because I don't wanna be let down. I'm staying pessimistic. :nervous:

I think being a pessimist is the easiest way to stay happy when it comes to sports.

Potentially jelly?

You figure... yeah he's bought guys but look at all the young guys they've brought up too plus the ones soon to come in Boston.

You always take huge risks in free agency no matter the team.

Jelly of 1908?

Funny thing is Theo gets credit for 2004 and 2007 BUT the core of the 2004 team was done by Dan Duquette. The additions for 2007 mainly Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell were done by Bill Lajoie when Theo was off in his gorilla suit dancing to rock bands in South America. Theo is overrated.

No, we're not jelly of 1908 at all. We won that year, we're just jelly of 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1924, 1925, 19326, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, (not 1994), 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Conclusively, I do believe that you may be mentally ill.

You're jelly because you didn't win it all in 1908.

Slow down there, Cowboy. My jelly comment was a question at CNM. He axed is DEWS was jelly and I'm asking if he thinks were jelly of (not winning) since 1908.

I know, but you weren't specific enough, you never including the (not winning) part :shifty:

If this is about the Cubs, it often goes without saying

I get whitesox's concern about Theo re: Duquette building the team, and would also raise the point that the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox were incredibly lucky to even make it to the World Series after huge ALCS deficits, but at least Theo didn't **** up the team when he did take over, and the team actually continued to be perennial contenders in the toughest division in baseball. So he may be overrated, but probably not all that much.
