This is pretty funny. Really puts pro athletes in comparison to amateurs in perspective when some of the best YOUNG amateur players in Boston get curbstomped by a retired NBA bench warmer.

Theres a 30 minute video of it too. Over four games (11pts to win 1pt per basket) he only gave up 5 baskets. 3 of which were from the first game when he was warming up. The thing is he doesn't seem "that much" better than his opponents until you realize hes the only one putting up points.

Love me some white Mamba.... I think it's awesome that a guy like this would put his rep on the line. I don't know how good those guys are against regular competition but he made them look like shit.

Anytime the young apes call the old silverback out and the young lads get schooled is always fun.

See here's the thing, with guys like him the reason they are so good and last 11 years in the league isn't because they are a big body, or good enough to fill in somewhere, it's because he is really versatile, smart, and adaptive. If you watch them, which sadly I did the whole thing just about. The players are all somewhat different. He changed his game to match each one of them. The first guy was a shooter, The second guy speed, third guy was physical, 4th guy was all of the above, and he had to battle with the fact that the 4th guy was last and he had to be a bit tired. That's the thing about the NBA it will chew you up and spit you out if you are just a good-great player. You have to have skill, understand the game, know matchups, have more than one move (you'll notice he took it strong to the hole, fade away, 3's ect.... and used one to setup the other). This is the problem I have with so many kids leaving early from College because they dominated with just having a better move than the other players. And not having good enough competition to compensate and shut it down. They don't learn how to play the game they learn how to put up stats. Then they get to the NBA and are pushed around, not as fast, not as strong, not as long and not as skilled as everyone around them and it's too late to learn to adapt they have millions of dollars and are expected to learn quick, produce, or get out.

It's why there has been some great players like Scal who have come from seemingly no where to have long careers they do more than just put up stats. But then you have guys like Muhammed who doesn't do anything but walk up and down the court and somehow still gets contracts.

I didn't watch this, but he's still 6'9", right? Pretty hard for an average Joe to score on a guy that is 6'9, regardless of talent level. Did he play anyone his size?

He didn't play average joe's. They were skilled amateur players, I think with either college or street ball tourney type experience.

First guy was 6'8 and played 4 years of college ball, but most of them were shorter. And as said by wino, they arent just guys that ball in their driveway.
