Early in July I was at a wedding in New Hampshire and met Bob Lee, a colon cancer survivor. Found out that Bob had started an organization to raise money for three different causes that dear to him: American Cancer Society, ALS (Les Turner Foundation), and Hospice.
Bob, who is 70, raises money by doing long distance rides through out North America. The next ride will start in Vancouver and follow the coast down to Mexico. Along the way he will stop at various hospices and cancer treatment centers to discuss his charity along with success stories that he has encountered during his rides (and setup partnerships for the donations to go to).
I don't shill for things like this often, but I found Bob a pretty inspirational guy that is using his cancer scare to help others.

On a side note, I also found out that the STH that sits next to me knows Bob Lee as well and has been assisting his organization pro bono. Small world.
