The ballsiest broad of comedy has died. A pioneer in the world of entertainment and one of the first female comedians, she was an inspiration. I first saw her in a scene from Splendor in the Grass (one of my favourite movies ever) playing famous, bawdy, club hostess, Texas Guinan, and her scene blew me away. She commanded the room and made me forget about how good-looking Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood are. Truly one of the funniest, most ground-breaking entertainers ever. All women could learn a lot from her. Fuckit. All people could.
I'm going to be extra sassy today in tribute. I will miss her.
