For no apparent reason, while watching NHL Overtime I thought of Robert Lang. The thought occurred to be that I had no idea what the compensation for his trade had been. So I decided to take a look and am intrigued by the results:
Lang was traded to the Canadians for a previously acquired 2010 2nd round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Then I think on draft day, maybe not, Chicago traded Toronto back their 2010 2nd round pick. For Calgary's 2nd round pick in 2011 and Toronto's 3rd round pick in 2011.
Those were finally used to draft Brandon Sadd and Michael Paliotta.
If Sadd lives up to building hope for him, that's pretty sweet to get him from that Lang trade way back in the day.
