Has he really done anything to warrant it? I mean the reason the White Sox are where they are is because Adam Dunn and Jake Peavy went to their pre-sucky 2011 versions of themselves. I don't know as if Robin Ventura deserve credit for that. If the Orioles are above .500 by the end of the year I think Showalter gets it.

If they keep it up, yes.

So far, it's Buck Showalter, and it's not all that close. But, I don't think it will finish that way at all. Buck will have to get his boys to the playoffs to win Manager of the Year, and Ventura is looking to keep the White Sox at least in the race throughout the entire season.

Yeah there is no way Showalter doesn't get it if the Orioles make it into the postseason.

Heck or finish at .500

If they finish in third or fourth place at .500 there is a strong case to be made for Showalter, but it would be a lot more dicey. If they grab the second wildcard or better, it would be the biggest snub for Showalter not to get it. I honestly could see whoever wins the AL East getting the award as well. Due to east coast basis, and the argument being if a non-Yankee or Red Sox team wins it by beating them or if either of the Yankees or Red Sox pull it together to win the division by overcoming "adversity".

And quite honestly unless the Sox make the playoffs I would be ok with it too

Behind Buck is Washington in my eyes
