A little surprised -- I figured he'd play out his contract (ended next year I believe? I could be mistaken on that) then the Sox would be looking for a replacement. Still a possibility with buy-outs and firings and what not -- as BigSoxHurt35 said -- but I don't know what the Sox gain by extending him now.

Who manages this team is irrelevant, the Sox needed better players.

Put it this way, he hasn't lost games for us.

Judge him after the Sox make the necessary personnel changes.

Pretty Meh, but it reminds me too much of the time Ozzie's contract got extended after they lost 90 games in '07.

Robin was pretty good for his first couple of months, then he started to tinker, and get hands on and everything kind of exploded.

Not to mention the way he handles the pen is baffling at times.

I was hoping he would ride his contract, as X stated (would have ended after 2014). And bring in my man-crush Ken Macha.
