Hopefully they can get Mubarak out but put in a regime that isn't pro-blow up Israel.

What is everyone's opinion on the protests?

Reliable sources say Internet has been cut for most if not all of Egypt to stop the spread of organized protests.

People can still turn on CNN and see "Egyptian protest leaders call for march of millions" I assume.

Yes, as of yesterday the last ISP went down, the thing that is totally being skirted here is OUR government wants to pass a "kill switch" bill (introduced in 2009) to guard against this same thing happening here. They want to be able to turn off the internet by declaring a cyber emergency, where homeland security can take over. They are also hoping that what happened/is happening will serve as a warning to the government that turning off the internet can't happen, and will only make things worse.

Violence is starting to ramp up as pro-Mubarek protestors clash with opposition party. Don't know what to think about this. Would like to see a real democratic process come from this, but during times of turmoil like this often lead to worse regimes taking power.

I think a partial military coup with sharing of power for a real democratic process is the best they can hope for. Hoping the Muslim Brotherhood with the aid of foreign influence (Iran, Syria) does not sieze power.

Hoping for the best for Egypt, but expecting the worse.

Weather forecast for Egypt: rowdy, with a chance of car fires.

Surprised we havent been discussing this. Tunisia down, Egypt in process, now in Yemen 10,000 protestors came out to oust their president. There is a total domino effect happening here. Funny, because most of these autocratic leaders are US allies. I say let em revolt, I don't care if their dictators are US allies, after all were supposedly all about spreading freedom and taking down dictators, allegedly.

Mubarak might be handing power over to the Army shortly.

how does that work? do you lobotomize said banee with a hot-poker up the nose?

As long as I get locked in a room full of priceless treasure that would be just fine by me.

It has something to do with the 4th horseman of the apocalypse. It's pretty technical, you wouldn't understand.
