Guy shows up to his noisy neighbors house with a camera and gun, shoots his neighbor, on his neighbors property, claims stand your ground self defense.

I really want to see all of this video tape.

Ugh such blatant misuse of a great law. The intended purpose of the law is great lately the use is terrible. Stupid should not own firearms.

Agreed Supra. Here's where this guy (if it were in FL) would be prosecuted and sent to jail for life:

He clearly brandishes the weapon to show the partygoers because they speak clearly on tape about seeing his gun. In "stand your ground" (the intent of the law) there is no foreshadowing. You feel your life is in danger, you draw your weapon and fire. No time lapse, no discussion, no showing of the weapon ahead of time to "scare" someone. Self defense is not premeditated. It is organic.

This is very similar to the woman who is in jail for 20 years for firing a warning shot at her estranged ex here in FL.

While I agree with what you are saying above, maybe I'm misunderstanding part of it? I don't think that carrying a weapon is necessarily always foreshadowing. That would mean that every time someone goes out with a weapon they intend to use it. If a person was going to a bad side of town and taking the gun in case something happen, I wouldn't consider it foreshadowing per se. Just like this guy took the gun over because he knew it was a party and anything could happen... Now in this case I think he took it over to make his words louder and is guilty as shit but I hope you can understand where I"m questioning. I guess if he's out waving it around you have a point.

No, not carrying it, showing it. "Waving it around" is the illegal part and foreshadowing.

Its one thing if he brought the gun but wasnt brandishing it. Its a party of adults for what looked like a 50 year old female teacher, and a fucking fire captain, that doesnt really come off as a situation where a guy should have to fear for his life for asking them to tone down the music. Its not like he was trying to break up a party in south central full of crips.

This guy created the situation and worse yet, looks like he killed someone that really didnt have anything to do with the actual altercation. I dont recall a female voice in that video threatening to get her gun and shoot him, but most definitely a man did, so he even shot the wrong goddamn person.

Its completely another situation where death would be avoided if hed let the damn cops do their job or just grin and bear it, YOU KILLED SOMEBODY OVER LOUD MUSIC, WTF.

Where the hell were the cops to respond to his complaint? I mean I'm sure they get lot's of calls, and he should have waiting. but I wonder how long he waited. The thing that realllllly bothers me is he said the exact works "I'm standing my ground"... that right there shows as much premeditation in my mind.

More important things to do? I dont think they thought the complaint originator was going to go over the house with a gun.

I'm still wondering how the hell this guy was able to hold his gun, camera, and phone at the same time?

Also, this happened in 2010, before the Trayvon Martin case. Why did it take this long to make the news? Why did it take 2 years to start this trial? Who the eff knows.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
It just goes to show that whenever a good idea comes along (i.e. "stand your ground" laws), there's always got to be some ******* out there that tries to ruin it for the rest of us.
