I was checking out the list of the new coaching staff and noticed, apart from the strength and conditioning staff, Ronell Williams is the only keeper from the last staff.

They fired everybody but him. This is an interesting development and bears close watching to see if he rises as a guy.

Of course, it could just be that he is just a guy, but why only keep him?

So, just he and the strength and conditioning staff are legit? Speaks volumes of the last clowns.

Read the article - hardworking, upstanding guy. I can see why he was kept.

I'm hoping they keep some of the scouts Pace had, especially the ones most involved in the mid to late round drafting.

I’m sure several on the previous staff could be described the same way though…

Honestly, its also likely because he is on the newer side and is willing to learn whatever systems he'd need to in order to stay on. A lot of those other coaches are more married to how they do things. I think that's a large factor as well.

I agree. There’s an interesting wrinkle with this guy: he has a degree in education.

I like a coach with an Ed background. They, at the very least, are familiar with how people learn. It seems that Eberflus and Poles value being able to teach the system.

So, to build upon your point, he seems to not only be willing to learn the new system, be he also has the ability to teach it.

I have an issue with them keeping the strength and conditioning staff. I haven't liked the way they have evaluated and handled injuries in the past. Early season hammys were better this year but not so good previous ones.

I'm concerned about the bears keeping the strength and conditioning staff. Seems like there were a whole lot of players that had injuries drag on way longer than the team expected them to.

I’m thinking they were kept for continuity with the players more than anything. Maybe they are let go for next year.

My guess is that they are working with the players in the plans instituted during the season, so they are kind of in their season now — preparing the players for next year. So, they will most likely be evaluated on the gains and all that plus injuries for next year.

Of course, I could be wrong. Whadda I know?

So, scout in charge of finding the best mediocre talent. Do you actually think that is a thing? Do you even think as you type?
