Rose & Deng - Lack of 3pt Attempts...

Okay, this should be one of the focal point and not many of us are discussing this but this is a kind of BIG Issue.

We saw Deng attempt couple of 3s in last night's game and knocked them down. Why doesn't he do this ALL THE TIME? Every single game??? It will help his game so much. It will bring up his efficiency. I mean how hard to just step back a little (he is already shooting close to 3pt line anyways) and shoot 3s???

I am actually more worried about Rose than Deng though. How Rose doesn't even attempt 3's is beyond my understanding. I don't care if he misses or not, he atleast NEEDS to attempt some to atleast see if he can make it or not - and no I am not talking about 1 3-point attempt a game. Why do we have these kind of players on our own roster??? Now a days, even PFs and Centers attempts 3s but our wing players don't???

I was watching the games from November/December last year and Rose used to attempt around 2-3 3-pt shots a game and he was also making them as well. I have no idea what the heck happened that he just stopped attempting those???

Did Skiles gave Rose a call or what???

I'm sure Rose shoots 3's during practice and shootarounds and they probably don't go in as much as he would want, so he's probably not ready to take those shots.
I do agree Deng should work more on his 3's and he could probably knock those down and we can add another 3 point shooter to our team, like you said Deng is already taking jumpshots practically with his foot on the line! Might as well step back.

Deng apparently took Skiles telling him not to shoot threes to mean forever and ever, not to mean until he could make them.

He made 14/44 in November/December, not really a good percentage to start with. But since then he's made just 2/35 three point shots. I sure as hell don't want him shooting that shot more!

They don't shoot alot of 3's because they aren't good at 3pt shooting. Rose is not a good shooter even in the mid-range. He needs to be more consistent there then stretch it out a bit. Deng really needs to develope a 3pt shot because he's only a step in from the line when he's draining jumpers anyway. I want Rose driving to the hoop, not shooting more 3's.

If only Deng would realize that he does not need to dribble inside the 3pt line in the corners because they're the EXACT SAME as the wing jumpers he takes all the time. Can you imagine the Bulls with 3 3pt threats on the floor at the same time? Assuming Salmons and Hinrich stop shooting like 6th graders of course and that Deng really is consistent from the corner 3. How nice it would be to have court spacing again.

I believe Deng can hit them no problem. But if you look at Deng when he shoots it has nothing to do with position but rather its just rhythm.

Deng basically is the equivalent of a Wide receiver that just runs his route and has no clue where the first line marker is. He just runs his route and catches the ball ie you would never want to give him the ball if its 3rd down.

I said the game against the Blazers, Deng took such a ridiculous shot where it was a fast break he shot the ball while standing on the 3pt line and made it. I felt like punching Deng. That just plain bad offense.

Its kinda ridiculous to believe that a guy who probably takes the longest non 3ptrs in the league cannot take 3ptrs. Thats all mental and we have to change that from Deng.

As far as Rose is concerned..dont let me start on him.

Rose needs to snap out of being so humble and just own it.

Rose is just too humble and too respectful that he would rather Kirk go 3-10 every game instead of him taking those shots.

The thing that has me is Rose started off the first month of the year last year shooting close to 36% from 3.

And they were real attempts.

AFter that, Rose hardly ever shot a Real 3.

A real 3 to me is when you are actively trying to shoot it. As in non bailout or half court buzzer beater. Last year after Dec, Rose never shot a real 3. All his bad percentages were all half court heaves.

This year Rose has only attempted 5 3s and only 3 of them were real attempts. Thats just not good enough. I believe Rose has worked on them. Just have confidence in taking them.

Deng is shooting 56% on the year. If he isn't very good this year, no one should be shooting threes in the league.

My thing is I don't want Deng abusing the 3pt line, Rose needs to hit the mid-range w/ more consistency, Rose can survive in this league w/o a good 3pt shoot, he just has to knock down the mid-range, look at guys like Andre Miller, Kevin Johnson, Gary Payton, Rod Strickland, Jason Kidd, those guys aren't good 3pt shooters, as long as Derrick can knock down the 3 w/ the game on the line thats all that matters
