Hi everyone, I'm new here, as my post in the new members thread would indicate. I've kind of been forced to air my occasionally delusional paranoia on the internet because my obsessive and sometimes overwhelming nature towards the Bulls has isolated me from my acquaintances who are less...intense than me.

First off, I'd like to apologize in advance if this is the wrong place for this discussion or if this is already being addressed elsewhere on the forum (if there is somewhere else to discuss this, I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction), but my concern with Rose's injury, while abated slightly everyday with even the smallest news of progression, remains strong (treadmill? Yes!). Particularly this latest news of the "bleeding" Rose has referred to. What in GOD'S name does that mean? I'm no doctor, but, is that worse than a strain? It is certainly not as groin grabbingly transcendent as my avatar. What are the implications of this? How long do you think he should sit before he returns? I can't help but think we should sit him perhaps until the playoffs start. I know it wouldn't be ideal as far as getting reacquainted with the system, but can we risk aggravating this horrifying sounding injury? I really hate the Heat.

First of all welcome to CCS. My name is SP94.
Pleases to meet you.
And Yes, you are in the right place.

As far as Rose's injury is concerned, there is no time table with groin injuries.
They can be better in a week, or even take up to a year...its one of those unpredictable type of injuries that's a day to day thing.
All we can do is hope he returns long enough before the playoffs to get back in the swing of things before they start.
Keep your fingers crossed.
And yes, I fucking hate the Heat too. Most of us do here.
You have come to the right place. This is the best Bulls forum on the internet.
I know, I've been on almost everyone.

One more bit of advice for the new guy.
Try not to get into any arguments with a forum memeber here that calls himself "HueHeffner".
The man can get get quite vicious.
In his eyes, any kind of response or opinion that doesn't coinside with his may result in verbal insults.
Don't let him break your spirit and get to you like I've allowed him to get to me.
The guy had me paranoid as hell last night.
I literally was pacing all night long constantly peeking out my window with my gun loaded in my hand. I even went to sleep with it last night.
I woke up this morning in a cold sweat.
Don't let him turn you into a paranoid skitzofrantic like he has turned me into.
Good luck.

Welcome to the Bulls forum.

Please refrain from talking about J.R. Smith or any other past Bull like Gordon or Hinrich. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for the prompt response. Yeah, I went through a few different forums and this one certainly seemed head and shoulders above the rest. Haha why is Ben Gordon so despised here? I imagine it's because of his unreliability and I can't say I would want him on this team, but I'll always love him after that series.

As far as Rose's injury, does anyone think it's worse than they're letting on? I know it's hard to project a timetable for his return, particularly without firsthand knowledge of his condition, but does anyone have a guess as to when he'll return? There are 15 or so games left, correct? I feel that it will be a struggle to maintain the number one seed without him, but how important do you guys think that is?

In Rose's case, I think we need to let him rest until both the trainers and he feel he's 100% ready. Our win against Toronto solidified playoff spot, and even if we went .500 the rest of the way, we're still going to win our division. Hell, we're like 11 games up on the Pacers. At this point, I would start limiting the starters' minutes and give guys like Gibson, Asik and Butler a chance to get more reps to prep them for a deep playoff run.

There's no point in risking a bigger injury to play guys 40 minutes a night when the games, for the most part, are meaningless.

I don't think the players themselves even let the doctors know exactly how bad an injury feels so they can get back on the court sooner. Kind of like the way players always tell the media, "I'm fine" or "its ok"...
I would guess that Rose would be back in the next week and a half even if he's not 100%.
That's the kind of competitor Rose is. He's been in some kind of pain almost his whole Bulls career and itt hasn't stopped him yet. With Rose's mental toughness I'm sure hell be just fine come playoff time....I'm sure when he comes back Thibbs will limit his minutes and increase them little by little with each game...
THE REAL QUESTION SHOULD BE WTF IS THE BUSINESS WITH RIP?
DOES ANYONE KNOW? HE HAS GOTTEN FREE FRONT ROW SEATS FOR EVERY BULLS GAME FOR FREE AND PAYED FOR IT. ITS NOT FAIR, HE'S A FRICKING PISTON FOR CHRIST SAKES.....ONLY SCOTTIE PIPPEN DESERVES THAT KIND OF TREATMENT IN THIS TOWN.
With his glass boned frame, I fear that he could get injured the same day he comes back, let alone what could happen to him in the playoffs. There is not enough time and he hasn't played enough games with this team to get into the full flow of the way our team does things..
I hope I'm wrong though about what Rip does.
IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Yeah, that's what I was anticipating as well. I just hope they don't let Rose come back too soon. I would be pleased with monitored minutes. And as far as home court advantage goes, I can't imagine that it would make too much of a difference, despite the seemingly psychological fragility of the Heat.

Fucking Rip. I remember that Pacers game where he got injured like 3 seconds into the game and thinking "of course". It was a great win but that really loomed over it ominously. Rip doesn't even feel like he's part of this team. Brewer has been a great stand in, but I'd love to seem him with the bench mob in the playoffs. One thing that I've been delusional enough to convince myself of is at least Rip hasn't been aggravating the same injury over and over. Hopefully this extra time off has erased any lingering concern over his groin injury.

*Does anyone else tell themselves at night that this Rose injury is a blessing in disguise as it give him time to rest? I know I do.

Absolutely.
This has made others step up there game without relying on Rose to do everything which ended up being our downfall against the Heat last year.
Players like JL3 who I used to think was garbage have emerged with the likes of C.J Watson. Both have become very reliable. The same goes with Deng and even Boozer is stepping up. The bottom line is our team has been finding ways to win without him and whatever else has been thrown our way all season. Rose's absence has made our team heart and will power grow stronger. And when Rose returns, it will feel like we just signed the best pointguard and MVP to add to an already good team. Thas how I've been looking at the situation. :beerbang:

No. Rest is all well & good but the starting 5 needs time to gel before the playoffs. You want Rose & Rip heading into the playoffs in a good rhythm, not shaking off rust from weeks of inactivity. It is good that the bench mob is gaining confidence with increased playing time, but Rose's injury is no blessing for sure.

I hear you. There is no such thing as a good injury.
But it is a blessing that we have a deep team that's been able to pull the slack which is a good thing if this isn't for too long of a period. Rose and especially Rip needs to get used to playing games before the playoffs.

Rip is a veteran, he should be ready to go if he sat till the playoffs. However i am highly doubting he will survive the first round. If we play indiana they will beat the shit out of him with hard screens.

I'm a big chemistry guy, but I also like what Rip can do without having a ton of game time on this team. I'm trying to be optimistic. When a team prepares for the Bulls, they wont have a huge library of tape to go off of, and counter us. There aren't too many players that can come in, and offer us the play, like Rip, when he is rusty.

He could be out as soon as. He puts on a warmup jersey.
he could also get the shit beaten out of him in practice. :troll:
