The article was a good read all around IMO!

Now I’m sure you talked about the lockout. How was the feeling between you guys about the whole situation?

DR: It’s hard! I don’t have a job right job. And the way it’s looking you’re not going to have a job… I haven’t felt this way since high school. The way I think about it, it shouldn’t be billionaires and millionaires arguing about money. I’m just trying to get out there and play for the fans. I think it’s hurting the fans more than anyone else.

Can you talk a little about your vacation, especially your trip to the Philippines, where you played with Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul among others?

Derrick Rose: I’m having fun. The experience about going to the Philippines was great. Just going over there, feeling appreciated. I think that was the biggest thing for everyone going over there. I didn’t know anyone knew me in the Philippines! That was an experience I will remember forever.

Are you working on any other aspect of your game?

DR: Just trying to be consistent, be sharp and work on my post-up game.

Time has passed since you won the MVP trophy award. What are your feelings about it now?

DR: It was great but I’m not satisfied. I won’t be satisfied until I win a championship. I’m not satisfied at all. There’s not a doubt in my mind that I’m not going to win a championship. I’m going win multiple championships. It’s not a doubt in my mind.

If there’s finally a shortened season or no season at all, would you consider playing overseas?

DR: I’m staying. I don’t play pickup basketball. I’m working out in Los Angeles right now. I haven’t taken into consideration yet playing overseas. Right now, if I do think about it, the Euroleague is definitely an option I would consider. I would have to talk to my agents and make sure that everything is OK, but I’m hoping right now there’s a season.

I like the fact he wants a post-up game. Hopefully he can develop it quicker than Lebron :tiptoe:

I think Rose should still focus more on his jump shooting. I don't really see why a PG would wanna focus on his post game.

Well a post game will just add another dimension to his game. He is strong and he can use that to take smaller point guards down low, like Billups does so well.

I know it'll add another dimension, but in general, PG's don't really play in the post too often.. even if Rose masters it, it's not like he's gonna be playing in the post a lot.

i just think he should focus more on things he'll actually be doing regularly.

Noah's the one who should be working on his post game.

I think the main reason Rose's shot failed him later in the year, was that he was too fatigued by the end of the season. I don't feel he needs to improve there as much as developing a post game.

it wasn't just later in the year.. Rose's jump shot was pretty inconsistent all year long.

he had 1 hot month early on, but after that, it wasn't very good.

I think his jumpshot is a lot ore valuable than what his post game would bring.

he should leave the post up to Noah, boozer and Deng. I don't mind rose trying to learn how to play in the post, but he needs to focus more on his jump shot.

I love that Rose said he was going to win multiple championships...It reminds me of his confidence when he said at the beginning of last season,"why can't I be mvp"?...After his bold statements, he really became mvp....Maybe its a sign that when Rose publicly gives himself a challenge, he makes it happen..:woot:

Imo when he says he's working on consistency that means his jumper since it was very inconsistent. Once he has that down, having a post game will just add another dimension to his game. He's stronger than most other PGs and can jump higher than the rest. It's not like he'll be posting up all game, that's not his thing, but a few times here and there will open up a lot for him.

Rose's jump-shooting is just fine. After he tweaked his ankle, his percentage went down a bit.

Good Point! I remember when he said that. He elevated his game to the max there after.

He probably is. But a Post Game would REALLY help out his game as well.

Remember he is a BIG, ATLETIC PG. he should be able to post smaller or same sized guards up. Adds a whole new demision to his game. Especially when you consider the fact that he won't always be able to rely on his explosiveness and athletism down the line of his career. He'd have to adjust like MJ and now Kobe did when they got older.

Now is the perfect time to get that aspect of his game together.

They way Rose can shoot with one hand (either his left or right) is a good base to work in the post with. I see him owning every other PG in the league.

Noah is the one who the Bulls need to develop a post-up game and consistent hook shot. It would be a nice added weapon for Rose but he doesn't need one that badly at the 1.

Rose was injured in the playoffs. Anyone who thinks he was 100% in any series after he sprained his ankle is deluding themself. His shot was not that inconsistent last season. His 3pt shot, definitely. Inside the arc, he was automatic, however it seemed as though he got away from the 15-footer & was playing either behind the arc or right at the rim from mid-season on. He needs more trust in his mid-range game, which is one of his biggest strengths right now.
