Hey Guys,
After watching D-roses alley-oop today it made me remember.
before we drafted D-Rose Doug gave an awesome podcast on describing both Mike Beasly and Derrick. In Rose's podcast he described him as being super athletic and a blurr on the fast break, but did not think he would be dunking during games as much. My question: Are you happy with Derrick's dunking rate during games? Do you expect more or less than what you've seen. What was you're expectations if you had any on how much he was going to dunk. He has shown the potential to be just filthy on some dunks. What you guys think?

I was expecting the occasional dunk but it seems like he has at least one a game. That's just exceptional coming from the point guard position.

hes doing very well in the dunk dept, not just on fast breaks, but at times off the dribble in a 1/2 court set when he finds a free lane. hes dunked in a bunch of situations, not just when hes all alone. so yes, very happy with the dunk production. anything more would be all gravy.

also lets not forget all the double pumps, over-unders, over-under-reverse-switch, and ridiculous leaning layups that he produces on the regular. he is an underrated aerial contortionist with exceptional strength to add to it.

Rose makes the most ridiculous layups sometimes. People say the I make ridiculous layups (I guess you would need to see me play for that to mean anything), but Rose takes ridiculous up like...10000 notches. If he didn't have to maneuver around the defense so much, he'd have a lot more dunks. He is such a freak athletically. But I don't think he's been dunking once per game. Maybe like a dunk one game then like 5 games later he'll have a couple more, then another one 3 games later. Something like that.

His layups are very good. He has such good body control in the air.

As for his dunking, it's pretty explosive. Good to see after the injury slowed him down early.
