LAS VEGAS -- Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner will each get a start on Tuesday in the Cubs' final split-squad games of spring, and then it's decision time.

Wells and Cashner, along with James Russell, Carlos Silva, Braden Looper, Todd Wellemeyer and Casey Coleman, are being considered for the final two rotation vacancies for the Cubs.

Cashner's longest outing has been four innings, and the Cubs are happy to see him making adjustments.

It says decision time is after Wells and Cashner each start in the last split-squads on Tuesday, so I'm assuming it will be announced on Wednesday's off-day. But it also could be announced on Tuesday after the games.

Hmm... I wonder how this would effect a Michael Young trade. If we name Silva a starter, then that could **** with Cashner, if we do trade Silva. However, if we name Cashner a starter, then that would make Silva's stock go down. I don't expect a trade to happen during the spring, though, so I would have to think that it's going to be Silva. I sure hope so, at least.

Maybe they'll jump into talks, or maybe they never start talks.

The Yankees and Nationals are scouting Silva too, so there are a few potential destinations.

I think it will be Cashner and Wells.

No one said Silva will be in a Young trade.. Why would they even want him? Also that's the first day of major cuts.
