Should Bulls trade the rights of Omer Asik and Tyrus Thomas to Timberwolves for Ricky Rubio?

PG: Rubio, Hinrich
SG: Rose, Salmons
SF: Deng, Johnson
PF: Noah, Gibson
C: Miller, Gray

Ummm, why? We already have Rose and I think it's pretty obvious he's the PG of the future for us.

Only if we're throwing in Derrick Rose too, while Al Jefferson and Kevin Love are coming back our way.

rose can't play SG. he just can't. and rubio won't come here because we already have rose.

plus rubio seems like a stuck up punk because he'll only play where he wants to play.

Not to be mean man but this is the most ridiculous idea I have ever seen. There are numerous wrong things with this post:

1) Derrick Rose looks like a guaruntee to be a top 3 PG in this league, why would we put him at SG?

2) Rubio is not a sure thing. How many European PG's that are good are there? 1? Tony Parker, ummm, Calderon can hit a lot of free throws in a row, I guess that's like being a good punter. So there are only 1 and even if turns out to be good, he won't be as good as Rose EVER! Yes there are a lot more foreign players but most of the top 20 players in the league are Americans and most of the top Euro guys are big men like Dirk and Pau. The only way I would take a European PG is if they actually worked out for people and maybe play in draft camps against American kids to gauge how good he is. He was probably smart not to work out then everyone would realize he sucks, if he was so great he would have worked out. And he is 18, I love how this kid can get around Stern's stupid age barriers because he isn't from the U.S. Oh and I am tired of ESPN guys saying he held his own against us in the Olympics and ran Spain's offense to a good game against us. WRONG, Rubio got ripped first time he tried to bring it up by JKidd and I think CP3, then Spain took him off the ball and he never brought the ball up again, and was playing the shooting guard spot. He might have brought it up one or two more times when we were double teaming Navarro so he had to but he did not run the offense in the Olympics at all!

3) Rubio is a spoiled little brat who's mom doesn't like the cold. Then go back to Spain, can't go anywhere without MOMMY, another european softee. Did Brandon Jennings mommy go to Europe with him? we don't even know it wasn't even an issue.

4) Tyrus has proved more valuable than trading for a mysterious slow and soft European player, we need to get back Bosh or Amare for Tyrus, NO less. Doug Thonus said Rubio has great vision, huh?, from those Euro highlights? How does Doug know what his vision will be like against Americans who are all faster, stronger and actually play defense. Looked to me like he was a young stupid kid trying dazzle moves against old men who weren't even interested in playing defense. No one ever comes within 2 feet of him. Tyrus would have thrown half those stupid behind the back tricks into the 10th row, what a scrub! He was injured a lot of the year and the stats that I bring up for him in Europe are horrible. Brandon Jennings had better stats then Rubio according to the Euroleague stats that I saw, and he didn't even get to play. Also are these European teams run like an ABA team? There are 25 guys on a roster and they all played 20mpg? So the teams are constantly changing throughout the year? maybe they have 1 guy the same from opening day by the end of the season?

I can't wait for Rubio to stink in this league.

Exactly. Skool's got it right on the money.

Minny would probably feel compelled to check the calendar to make sure it's not April 1st even though it's almost July. Even if we did want Rubio (which we don't) that offer is not NEARLY enough to get him from Minny. In other words, FAIL.

Stop Bashing Rubio, he isnt a "punk" hes an 18 year old kid who just wants to end up in the right situation. This kid has worked his ass off in order to be as good as he is now and I hope he ends up doing well in the NBA. When your in such a high demand as he is why would you not go to the place you want to. This kid may have to pay millions just to be in our league and make less money when he could be the star player in Europe and make millions more. Rubio is not competing to be in the NBA, the NBA is competing for Rubio so quit acting like hes a punk because he doesnt want to ruin his future by being sent to a team like the Timberwolves and ruin all the sacrifices he put into to make it here

F*** that punk as* bit**. He already looks like he will be a grade A whiner in this league, he didnt want to go to Memphis and now he doesnt want to go to Memphis. I hope Kahn plays very hard with him and his reps. If he wants to stay overseas wait it out so be it.

I agree with Newskool, hopefully Kahn plays it hard enough for him to either swallow his pride and play the best he can in Minny or else go back to Spain and be happy in an absolut self-produced horrorscenario where he really p....d off his team. I really don't like this whole attitude he brings with him. If you don't want to play by the league-rules just go back home.

edit: to the op no way I want him next to Rose on the Bulls.

if playing in the nba isn't enough for him, then why don't he just go play with all his spanish friends, and not get world attention and fortune. if he trades his way to say nyc, and he ends up being a failure, do you know how much of a d..k he'll look like?

Rubio is a great trading chip for the Wolves to get themselves another pick in 2010.

whats the point of having a draft if players can say were they will and wont play? let them all become free agents right when they feel they done with college.

what are you high?

no i'm just saying that when you enter an organization like the nba, you don't get to choose where you go. if rubio doesn't want to play in minnesota, then he can just go screw himself and play in the euroleague, no one cares.

I disagree. Everyone else worked hard to get there too< Thabeet, Griffin, Harden, Flynn all worked hard. And no he is not in that high demand, why did he go 5th? Griffin could have done the "I don't wanna play for the Clippers" move and he didn't, Griffin was IN DEMAND, no one else. Everyone works hard that doesn't give you the right to come in and be a baby and only want to play the greatest market.

Rubio and his agents are really overestimating his talent. If he was that good he would have worked out for teams and probably went 2nd, but they would have seen he sucked and he would've gone in the second round. I hope Minnesota doesn't trade him and he goes back to Spain as well.
