Episode #117 of RWTB is up on the front page and on iTunes.

Guys have been emailing me and asking when the next show was coming out. It's been over month, sorry it's taken so long but it's up now.

I talk about the schedule, the roster, the East and touch on DT's question about the best post-dynasty season.

Nice show as always Kush but what I was wondering about:

You always say that if Luol Deng gets hurt again, that Salmons has to move to the SF and Hinrich has to start at SG and then you have the problems with Pargo and Hunter being the only two guards coming off the bench. What do you think about James Johnson replacing Deng at the 3?

From what I´ve seen Johnson should be able to play the SF very well, don´t you think? With Johnson starting at SF the Bulls could keep their guard rotation.

You´re with me?

It's because Johnson can't guard 3's at all. He doesn't have the lateral quickness. It was apparent in summer league that for this guy to succeed in the NBA he needs to play the 4. Even his coach at Wake Forest said he can't guard 3's. Doesn't mean we won't see him out there at the 3 at times, but he's not really the ideal backup for Deng. Salmons is.

I haven't seen Johnson play, just a few youtube clips. I didn't watch summer league. So I'm gonna have to wait until preseason games.
But looking at him in that youtube clip of him dancing, he doesn't look like he's ready to guard NBA small forwards. I also remember DT saying something in one of his blog posts about Johnson putting on weight since the draft workouts.

I hope Deng doesn't get hurt, but he has the history.

I really don't have any. How's that for a breakdown? :cheer:

I haven't watched a lot of college basketball over the last 2 years, so I haven't seen much of Johnson or Gibson. So I'll be getting my first real look when I see them in preseason.

But i've said it all along that I'm not expecting anything from these two guys. Not that I'm trying to be negative, but typically you don't find impact guys at 16 and 26. Some teams have gotten lucky with their mid 1st rounders, but I'm not expecting type of impact from either guy this year. I hope it happens, but won't be disappointed or down on them if it doesn't happen this year.

Salmons has played with deng. They closed games with a lineup of rose, gordon, salmons, deng, miller. For the most part deng didnt play very well with salmons and gordons. he seemed to take ridiculously bad shots.

Has anyone noticed that salmons was injured a lot last year? he had that groin injury for most of the celtics series, and i think when we traded for him he was out with a groin injury. what if deng and salmons are both out.

Thanks for pointing that out because I couldn't remember if they played together at anytime.

If Deng and Salmons went down at the same time, we'd be screwed. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

What would we do though? Tyrus at the 3 with Johnson at the 4? 3 guard lineup of Hinrich, Pargo and Hunter? But then there would be no guards coming off the bench. Boy, I hope the Bulls can stay healthy.

What I don't get is, if we weren't going to resign BG, why didn't we draft a 2/3 instead of Gibson. A wayne ellington/budinger/thornton/cathles would have made a lot more sense and actually given us depth. We would have had some depth and outside shooting, something we don't presently have.
