I've been so busy the last to days I forgot to post that a new show was up.

It's me and Hou talking about a bunch of different topics. The Bulls, JR, LeBron, Kobe, etc..

I also would like to do a show with some other guys here on the forums. shows are so much easier to do when you have someone else there to kick around topics with.

Would anyone else on here like to be a co-host for an episode? We could even do three guys.
My only concern with having more than that would be the quality because everything is done over the internet. but I think three guys would be fine.

in my defense, rudy has been injured this year. he played significantly better abroad, and he played rather well last year. the criterion of posting up, shooting, etc is an absurdly high criterion for a shooting guard. I want rudy, not because i think rudy will be a star, but because he's usually a good shooter. The guy's 24, but he's had a year of nba experience. in 2 years he might play better, or he might leave. If you're giving up xavier henry or 17th draft pick and JJ, it's well worth the gamble. good teams need a good role player. rudy is better than parker, and he's not a great defender, but i think that could come in time. i never advocated loosing hinrich, so that ought to be help us out as well.

you know, if you do go the cohost route, you might want to get a more permanent guest. You're a rather nice guy. You tend to be civil etc. It might just be your nature, but you had a lot fire/reproach for media.

When you have guys call in, you cant help but keep things formal/nice. On the other side of things, onn the bullseye Mark and Fred abuse each other all the time. The debate is more heated. I duno, with new caller/cohoast, you wouldn't be able to breach the guidelines of civility. try to get some1 you wouldn't be afraid to call a jack ass. at the very least, it'd be entertaining to hear the bickering.

I don't think Kush is that type of guy, or at least he doesn't want to portray that on his show. And why should he? This is his show and his imprint....we disagree a lot but he is friendly so why would I want to bicker with him?

Fred didn't bicker with me either, we disagreed the whole show. Each show can have its own vibe and people will gravitate to what they like.

well thats what i mean.

all i'm saying is you're more apt to call your friends/familiar faces out, than you are a guy from the forums. you're afraid to alienating a person/pissing him off.

i duno. i can see what you're saying, that steven t gorches interview was pretty great.

I don't know if I can ever go the permanent co-host route because of my schedule, but I think it would be cool to have guys from the board jump on every now and then.

I think the reason Fred and Mark can go at it like because they are friends. They worked together so they feel comfortable giving each other grief.

That Gorches interview for example. Fred was ripping the guy left and right. But he couldn't do that during the interview or the guy would just hang up.

It's easy to get fired up about something someone says because it gives you a good topic for the show. Like Neil Funk gave me plenty of stuff to yap about, but if I ever had him on, I wouldn't call him any names.

Maybe I can land JR on the show?

I loved the show. Great stuff as usual. Houston, although I'll never agree with you on BG, I respect your basketball IQ, and enjoy your sense of humor. Loved the "Peter Falk" Columbo joke. But the highlight had to be when Kush compared his inabilty to get into your fantasty league to Reinsdorf pulling the contract on Gordon because of the deadline...that was an all-timer.

If there's anyone we need to get to co-host a show it's Kirk. Lets see exactly how feisty he gets on Fred.

I find it hard to believe that he could actually be more of a jackass than I think he is. You would have to be an actual donkey to be more of a jackass than Neil Funk.

Yeah great show. My favorite part was the discussion about Marc Cuban being the best GM in the league.

Houh: "So what was his big move?"
Kush: "Oh Dirk was on the team when he bought the Mavs, right?"
Houh: "Yeah"
Kush: "Oh then.................................................HE BROUGHT IN RODMAN!" ;) :D

As for a guest in your show I would be interested in Sam Smith.

Yeah, rodman was huge for those 12 games or whatever.

My point about Cuban vs. Reinsdorf is that Cuban won't let money be an issue the way JR has. Luxury tax isn't an issue for Cuban, but it seems to be for an owner of a team in the 3rd largest market that always makes money.

And Hou brought up the point about Steve Nash and letting him go. Which is true. But at the same time Cuban in turn spent the money to replace him with Jason Terry and they went to the Finals without Nash. Unlike JR who let both Grant and Scott Williams walk only to replace them with Larry Krystowiak.

Nash has been great, but he's yet to play in an NBA Finals. But like I said on the show, had Steve Nash helped the Mavs win three straight titles, Cuban wouldn't have let him go anywhere. Hell, Cuban was willing to give a 37 year old Kidd an extension because he thought he made the Mavs a better team. I think people forget that Nash was the third best player on those Mavs teams. I don't think ANYONE thought at the time that "I can't believe the Mavs let a potential MVP walk away." No one saw Nash winning 2 MVPs. No way. He went to a perfect situation that suited his skills. Great system, great players. It worked well for him.

So basically JR botched the Horace Grant situation, a player that was the third most important person on your 3-time championship team. My point is that wouldn't happen with a guy like Cuban. there would be no bickering over money.

Not that spending money solves everything (look at the Knicks last decade) but when you have good players I prefer the owner that doesn't let luxury tax become an issue.

So to sum it up, I would rather have Mark Cuban own my team over Jerry Reinsdorf.

Hou's counter argument would be that "What has Cuban won" JR has 6 titles. I would claim JR has 6 titles because he bought a team with MJ on it. And that would start the argument all over again.

As for having guest on the show I meant guys on the board.

Is anyone interested in being on the show with me as a co-host?

Hey Kush, I may be interested in coming on for an episode sometime in the future. Probably after mid May since I am really busy until then. Unfortunately our season will most likely be over. I don't know how exciting it would be with me on since I usually agree with 90% of what you say haha but I'm sure there will be some good discussion.
