I signed my DD-214 and got my blue ID card today. I am one extremely happy individual, and on the other hand, one sad individual right now, because I officially ended a 20 year chapter in my life.

For those of you that don't know what that means, in the eyes of the Navy, I am Retired and in the Fleet Reserve. Now them ******* really pay me for doing nothing but sitting on my ass.

Congrats. Thank you for the service. I couldn't fathom (see what I did there?)doing that for 20 years, let alone the same thing for 20 years.

Cograts Chief, I start drawing mine next month, had 10active and 11 in the Air Guard.

Had to wait until I turned 60 to collect. Enjoy your self, your still young enough to start an other career, I did.

Bubble my friend thank you for your service.

Good luck on the next chapter of your life and know, deep down, you have done a great service for not only the Country, but the citizens who proudly say they are American!

So what do we call you now? Can you change your name to Old Crusty Salt?

Congrats man. It takes a long time to feel normal again, so don't get upset when you go to the mall and they don't have signs for the Head or that the mess deck is called the food court.

What are you going to do for work now? You should get a job at Great Mistakes so you can integrate a little easier.

Congratulations, and thanks for your service.

Any job prospects in the private sector - with your Navy background - or the government with your vet preference?
