According to Chris Kuc:

Salak had a rough season with Rockford of the American Hockey League, appearing in 21 games and recording a 6-10-0 record with a .903 save percentage and 2.69 goals-against average. The Czech Republic native suffered a left leg injury Dec. 2 and during his absence lost the IceHogs' starting job to Carter Hutton, who has surpassed him in the organization's depth chart.

Salak has appeared in two NHL games in his career, going 0-1-0 with the Panthers during the 2009-10 season. He has one year remaining on a two-year, $1.25 million contract signed in May of '11.

If he clears waivers, expect him to head back to Europe on loan to burn the rest of his contract.

Tallon trade......... Frolik and Salak for Skille, Jessiman and I believe one other. Can not remember who.

If Tallon gave him up it should have been our first clue on Salak and I was one of the very many excited to see him coming to Rockford/ Chicago.

25 is still younger for a goaltender to be waived. Either he didn't get any better, or he really wasn't that good to begin with.

More like he never got the shot promised and got pissed off with an attitude problem. Similar to Niemi except Niemi did what they asked of him without the attitude.

While I'm not surprised, the only real thing that bothers me about this is --- we don't exactly have star goalies in the system.

We shouldn't be giving away goalies if we don't want them. We're thin back there already as it is.
