Salak had a rough season with Rockford of the American Hockey League, appearing in 21 games and recording a 6-10-0 record with a .903 save percentage and 2.69 goals-against average. The Czech Republic native suffered a left leg injury Dec. 2 and during his absence lost the IceHogs' starting job to Carter Hutton, who has surpassed him in the organization's depth chart.
Salak has appeared in two NHL games in his career, going 0-1-0 with the Panthers during the 2009-10 season. He has one year remaining on a two-year, $1.25 million contract signed in May of '11.
