White Sox general manager Ken Williams said Tuesday that Chris Sale will be in the starting rotation next season.

Sale has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen since being drafted 13th overall in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, posting a 2.58 ERA and 111/37 K/BB ratio over 94 1/3 innings at the major league level. The White Sox had plenty of starting depth last season, even using a six-man rotation for a stretch, but should have an opening if Mark Buehrle signs elsewhere.

Official now. Looking forward to seeing how he does as a starter.

I would have thought that Sale to rotation would've been a no-brainer no matter what.

no surprise. MB gone and floyd or Danks moved we have no choice.

As you said...

the problem is if Sale takes over for MB, who takes over for the loss of Floyd or Danks?

that is a huge problem. The rotation is a mess.

Most Likely Danks is the one being dealt so lets go with that.

Peavy ( too ouchy )
floyd ( 3 or 4 )
Sale ( unknown as a SP )

I don't like Sale in the rotation. I think his mechanics and jerky motions for 150+ innings is going to really mess him up.

Oswalt please. And yeah, Sale has a lot to prove as a SP, Im not to high on him. Seems he went the Gordon Beckham route and regressed a little.

I'd like to see Oswalt on the Sox, but I don't have a problem with Sale as a SP. We need him.

The Sox will go from being one of the best pitching teams to being one of the worst. :turrible:
