R.I.P. trailblazer.

This is depressing news for me. I admire astronauts more than almost any class of people. She couldn't overcome pancreatic cancer but her achievements are legendary.

A great achievement for Sally. First American woman in space. One thing the Russians got right. They launched a woman into space in 1961. 22 years before Sally's mission. But better late than never. Nice work Sally. You were a hero.

Ugh I know I am going to get a huge backlash from this... but what exactly made her a "hero"? Or are we just making heroes out of everybody?

I won't give you a backlash. It's a fair question. But I would say she is a hero because she was risking her life. Look at Challenger and Columbia. Also she inspired girls to have an interest in science which I think is important. Now the question of spending on space travel is a fair question. It has scientific benefits, but the money could be better used down here.

Don't worry... I'll get the best goaltender in the world BACK in my sig soon.... just so you don't have to suffer.

EDIT: Since Stan has been asleep at the wheel.... I may as well try to get myself excited for next season, right? Not the like Hawks have done anything to improve the team... so frustrating!!!

Yes, the posts should be deleted and the offending posters banned for the derail. Both should be very well aware that threads always stay on topic here.
