It's not the juice. It's the outright juicing denials and the corked bat incident isn't helping. Same reason he's not in the hall. Maybe he'll get in those posthumously, when he can't sue over an asterisk.

Ever think he was voted in and Ricketts just refused to name him?

Meh, he shouldn't have to. Baseball knew what was going on and turned a blind eye because they were making money hand over fist.

My favorite Cub all-time. He was a juicer and likely won't get in. Is what it is.
You may as well say that he played in his era. Complaining about MLB players juicing during that time frame, is like complaining about soccer players, not using their hands.

The entirety of MLB juiced in that era. Is every player of that era, ineligible to the hall?

And basically every player to ever play in the show, would have cheated anyway, if they could get away with it.

Hell, even Babe Ruth was using corked bats, and was taking ram testicle juice, to try to get an edge.

according to the internet, Barry Bonds isn't in any HOF, neither is McGwire. those are the other big names of the era I remember.

Not only was he a juicer, he was a cheater too with the corked bat. One of the funniest moments of all time was when his bat busted and the balls came out. Not a fan of his.

My opinion on the baseball HoF and a Cubs HoF is that they are supposed to be history museums of the sport and franchise. Part of the history is even the warts. Tell the whole story. Trying to pretend some things didn't happen doesn't work or help.

Valid point, however the rapid body transformation of Sosa, McGwire, and Bonds was more striking than any other players in MLB that I can recall. Their use of whatever forms of PEDs was evident in their physique as well as their production. Like I said, I loved the excitement around the Cubs at that time, but they clearly broke the rules.

I've always thought there was more to it than just his shooting up and the corked bats. He pissed off someone big time....no idea what transpired but the Cubs are generally more forgiving. Someday the truth will come out.

Because they actively hit the gym. You can't just take steroids and build muscle sitting on your couch eating Cheetohs. You still have to put in the work.
