I don't want Macha to be apart of the Cubs. First...he was the coach of the Brewers. 2nd...I'm not a fan of him.

and that is a big deal because???????? who gives a **** if he coached the brewers or he coached in japan? its a bench coach!

also why aren't you a fan of his?

I heard Ken Macha might be the bench coach.

That would be a great hire. Not too sure why Waldo is against him. I understand he struggled in Milwaukee, but you have to remember he didn't have the same ball club as they had prior to when he arrived. He took over their job in post-Sabathia and Sheets era. Had a pretty young lineup and a horrid bullpen to work with and i think he did OK.

But, he was always considered a real good manager in Oakland. Even the Boston Red Sox wanted him as manager but Oakland refused to give them permission to speak with him.

But, bottom line is this- as kleenexbox said, it's a spot on the bench. However, it's a spot on the bench next to a guy who is just getting his feet wet. Macha would be the perfect guy for Mike Quade to bounce around ideas as he gets used to every day baseball as a manager in the majors.

I'm a big fan of Macha, always been, i don't care he managed the Brewers. Waldo, why don't you like him? Maybe you know stuff I don't and it could change my opinion of the guy but as of right now, you're doing a horrible job trying to prove whatever point you are trying to make.

He could be a great hire, I'm not saying he won't.
