Has anyone else ever taken classes via satellite or through a communication network?

In Iowa, its called the Iowa Communication Network, and I enjoyed it.

Basically the prof was at a site, and broadcast on a TV, and then there were classes going on at 4 sites. We had cameras that we could see the prof and vice versa. It was neat to chime in on the microphone and :troll: about the NATO protests.

Had something kinda like that at the community college I was at before EIU, we had "distance learning" classes. Had TV's and cameras and microphones on the main campus and at an extension center in another town. Teacher could be at either location and teach to two classrooms.

Just a bump.

We talked about football :smug:

And someone went on a 20 minute tangent about how putting a menorah in her window gives the government the right to put a manger scene in front of a courthouse.

Maybe a mod should move this to the new forum :tiptoe:
