I'm sure this topic has come up many times before but I had to bring it up again. The team has 4 days between games this week. Why? Looking over the schedule it seems once again there are plenty of back to back nights, or 3 games in 4 nights, while there are still other times when there are three days between games. WTF? March is the only month I can see that looks even close to a "balanced" schedule. Any thoughts?

I guess the moolah brought in by renting the UC out to all kinds of events is much higher on the priorities list than seeing that the Hawks have a favourable schedule.

HF 50... is that you?

Most teams have 3-4 games before the October 15 weekend. Some of this is due to the overseas games to help those teams adjust.

I think Vancouver has the most in that time period with 5.

Don't forget the Hawks SHARE the building with the Bulls. Although they have no schedule due to the lockout that is most definitely considered into the equation. There are a lot of NHL teams that do not share their facility with the NBA.

Every arena has other events scheduled. I don't think it has anything to do with the priorities list.

Blues, Bruins, Penguins, Devils, Islanders, Maple Leafs, Ducks, Kings & Sharks, the stadiums these teams play in like moolah too. Including our beloved Hawks, 3 teams...last 3 champions...

I say keep renting it out!

Yah it happens to every team. Still doesn't mean it isn't bull shit.

Last year the Hawks started the season with a crazy busy schedule. This season they start it with too big of a lay off btw games.

I figured it out...it is an estimate. The Hawks and Bulls can raise their tickets by 5 to 7 bucks for all seats and this will make up for the revenues the UC would have made from the Circus and Ice Show.

-.- As if the prices at Hawk games need to be increased any further... $50 for a top deck seat? I've got cable tv for that price.

Bull games on the other hand... They could increase by 50% for some of the upper deck seats and still make a decent profit.

That was the point of my post. If fans do not want them to rent out the UC then they should be willing to pay higher prices for the tickets to make up for the lost revenue.

Personally I believe it matters very little at the end on what kind of schedule a team plays on when the regular season is over. If a team is worth anything they will manage to qualify for the playoffs. And the playoffs are a totally different beast and the amount of back to back games the past 7 months mean diddly squat then. It is the power of will that matters the most then.

If anyone, it should be Rangers fans crying. Their home opener isn't until October 27th. Find me the last time a team got shafted that hard.

Well unless the NBA season resumes two weeks into the season... the Bulls first game would be the beginning of the circus trip.
