So I'm flying home to Chicago this weekend for a Birthday Party. Booked a direct early morning flight. They had overbooked the flightand were looking for volunteers to take a later flight. I scored $900 (no restrictions) in free flight vouchers good for a year. How sweet is that. I hate sitting around the Airport for 6 hours but in this case I guess it's worth it.

Anybody every get good deals for giving up their airline boarding pass to another passenger?

I had the same sort of offer given to me once at the Atlanta airport. I told them to **** off and get me the hell out of the Atlanta airport. They wanted us to stay over night and would have gave us a thousand dollars in vouchers. Wasn't worth it....just finished a long ugly dry docking job and wanted to get home pronto....and god the Atlanta airport is like getting raped by 7 PMX's.

Never anything even remotely that good. I did this once maybe ten years ago and got several hundred dollars.

When I first read this I thought something totally different. It involved Ymono and the men's room. Something he said on another thread.

Every time I fly I make sure to complain about something, even if nothing goes wrong. Back in March I got 500 bucks in travel vouchers. Flight from Midway to Minneapolis I had to sit next to an obese person who hadn't showered in weeks that got me 350 in vouchers. Then I had my flight from Minneapolis to Grand Forks canceled which got me another 150.

I highly encourage everyone I know if your ever in a situation where they're looking for volunteers and they'll give you a hotel, give up that seat. The rewards are well worth it and most times they'll get you where you want to go early the next morning.

On a business trip with three other co workers our flight from Orlando to Atlanta was delayed. We missed our connecting flight to Seattle like so many other people. So many folks decided to *****, complain and tear new assholes. Meanwhile I told the guy that it was all cool and I understood his plight. As me and my co-workers sat against the wall patiently waiting for the next flight, the aforementioned gentleman called me over. He presented me with four first class boarding passes for an Atlanta-Seattle flight.

That was totally awesome. I got lots of kudos from my peeps about the way I handled the situation and got to be hero of the day!!!

That's exactly how you should handle anything at the airport. IMO people who scream at the gate attendants shouldn't be allowed to fly, it's never the gate attendant's fault you missed your flight or the flight is delayed/canceled and all the screaming in the world isn't going to get you anywhere.
