Reportedly hitting 94 on the gun in Puerto Rico. Hasn't really pitched since 2010 due to injuries. From '05-'08 had ERAs in the 3's. Could be a low-risk-moderate reward move if the Cubs were interested. Seems like a Thoyer move.

I'd do it if it was the minor league deal/spring training invite variety. But I'd have jumped at it several years ago, too bad he sucks now :(

Wow, I haven't heard of Kazmir's name in a while! He used to be one of my favorite pitchers and helped lead my fantasy baseball team to a championship. Sad to see what has happened to him. Nothing more than a low-risk, medium-low reward I think.

Minor league/prove it deal, if he makes good to pitch at least decent, he could be a great scrap heap signing.

I like the minor league deal idea. Might need some lefty insurance if Travis Wood craps out again. That depends on whether he turns back into good Kazmir.

No-risk, high-reward kind of thing. Has his agent said anything?
