It's self inflicted by something he chose to do. Nobody made him. That's not a sickness my friend. That's just the B.S they feed people in meeting to make them feel better.

Many use it as an excuse to enable their habits. "Well, they told me its a disease so I really can't control it, excuse me while I go tie off quick".
