Season Ticket renewal?

What is the general consensus on renewing Season Tickets? I'm torn whether to renew and I'd hate to not have the tickets if the team gets good again, but I can't go to more than 20 or so games a year and I am taking on bath in the secondary market. But if lots of people give up their tickets, then perhaps when the team is good again I can jump back in without waiting. What do people generally think about the coming renewal? Will STHs leave in droves or are they sticking it out?

I was in the same boat with Cubs tickets. Ended up dumping them as most of the guys in our group decided not to do it. If you can afford it, Keep them. Never know when you'll get back on.

I'm not in Chicago and thus not a STH with the 'hawks (or other pro team), but I would be very reticent about buying season tickets with the expectation of the resale market. I don't see the 'hawks getting better for awhile--at least not to the point where they are the hot ticket and people want to spend $$$ on the chance to see them. However, I'll operate under the assumption that the 'hawks don't have lesser packages that won't contain all of the games. Thus, I'll assume that can't just downgrade to a 12 or 24 game package with the intent that you'll go to most.

Keep in mind though, I don't look at season tickets as an investement. Some do.

I was a season ticketholder for 10 years 2007-2017. I gave them up when I moved out of state but the timing was perfect. I'd like to think you might miss something randomly special in the next few year but the reality is you could easily buy whatever tickets you wanted with the savings. If anything put that money in the bank in case that happens...and if it doesn't take a nice trip.

My ticket partner is moving before next season starts, so I'm looking for someone who wants a half season in section 333.

When are renewal notices sent out? I thought I received my notice last year around the middle of February, but haven't seen anything yet this year. And what are season ticket holders going to do? If everyone else is bagging it, I might as well also because then I know I can get back in any time.

I'd get all the season ticket holders together and have them all call into their ticket rep with the hawks and say
"I'll renew when Bowman is fired".

Blackhawks social media just posted a link to sign up for 'Priority Access' to all ticket packages. They must be anticipating a max exodus from the season ticket holders.

I got on the Full Season waiting list pretty close to when it started in 2009. I had the 21 game which turned into the 9 game plan until I got the opportunity for Full season tickets last year. I did not renew this season (mostly because we just welcomed a baby girl in the family), but with the team playing poorly creating no re-sale value, and no interest from friends and family in splitting a larger package, I am pretty sure that I would have just bought single games for this season anyway.
