This could get messy when they play Detroit though.

(always use fresh from market fish kept on ice and attach a note for the team chef so we don't waste our animal friends)

I care less about the name than I do about the city and taxpayers getting screwed hard on the deal to bring them a team. I have no idea what was arranged without looking into it but arenas and franchises are the new billionaire grift.

It's the same draft ruleset to allow Vegas to be competitive from the get go. The pressure is on the Seattle front office to make it happen.

Kraken? what a dumb name. WOW! Doesn't even flow. How they come up with that one...smoking a lot of weed I bet

Sounds like something a socialist cuckflake antifa would say. Billionaires are the reason nerds like you get to have a job, show some ****ing respect. Without billionaires you'd go straight to hell.

To my knowledge the deal was struck with the intent that they would play in Key Arena...but that Key arena would be gutted like a Rainbow Trout to *actually* turn the place into an NHL-worthy arena. The place before it was like Barclay's bad--horrible sight-lines and some seats you're cut off from half the arena. Personally, I would have just Kingdom'ed the whole arena, but there was some blithering about the pyramidal roof being a landmark.

Now, how much of that is going to happen is anyone's guess since I haven't lived in the Seattle area in about 10 years...

The major issue though is transportation. Seattle Center in general (where Key Arena is located) is a nightmare for traffic without much truly mass transit in/out. Parking sucks and I doubt the Seattlites will do what it takes to make both the transit/parking situations work.

I'm expecting gridlock. That being said it would be nice to only do a 3 hour, instead of a 6 (Vancouver) or 10 (San Jose) hour drive to see NHL action.

I also don't expect the Seattle team to replicate Vegas' success. I don't know if they could replicate that kind of Buy-in.
