lol why am i not shocked that Jako started this thread? You were waiting for it weren't you?

Im surprised the guy wants to play another season. I'll give it to the guy he certainly seems to love the game and to be 37 and still active in it? That does speak loud. Have no idea what team will grab him. Guess he is still a cheap option for a roster filling.

I didn't mind him that much this season. He wasn't used correctly at times at even strength but i thought he served well on the PK. With that said...he wont be missed.

We could easily find someone who can do what he does with someone younger.... can't we? We'll have to now....

... not that I mind, of course. He served his purpose.

Someone is going to need to step the **** up on the PK, other than that he is completely and relatively easily replaceable. Gracias good sir for helping us win the 2013 Cup and good luck to you in the future.

I was chomping at the bit.

Like I said, he wasn't horrid. He was serviceable. I am still baffled as to why they thought he could anchor the 2nd line. He wasn't great there, but that wasn't his fault.

I was harbouring a lot of animosity from the 06 season. He said he didn't want to play for the Hawks and couldn't wait to get the hell out of here. He milked that injury for all it was worth. Now all of a sudden when the Hawks are good you want to play? Eat a dick.

I am glad though that he got a Cup here.

My favorite teams
 1. Portland Timbers
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
Basically yeah, Smith could take over PK duties.

Liked him in his 2nd tour here but right now he's bigger ballast than Yahoo Serious' acting career.

Can't fault the guy that he was used in the wrong role on the team. Plus, he didn't have much time if any to train in the offseason due to rehabbing from surgeries.

I'm not gonna bag on Zeus....he was what he was...slow as ****...but had his moments. Huge OT goal in WCF this year and I remember him being on the ice for Bickell's tying goal in Game 6 finals last year. Glad he got a ring last year....

Yeah I would think that if Zeus wants to play more he'd be a perfectly good 3rd or 4th line center. He also had that huge tying goal early in the 3rd period vs Detroit last year off the stick hand post and in. That goal really got us going in a game where we looked stewed. Quantity of goals, no. Quality/ good timing, yes. If he had only scored on in game 7 OT this year...grin.

I wish him well.

I think 4th line PK specialist is about as much as you can get for him. He's too slow and with age he's going to keep losing a step.
