Greets !

I have a recent 'sports friend' argument going back and forth on who the fastest North / South skater on the current Hawks roster is.

My friend says, without a doubt - its Saad.

I say its Leddy.

It may even be Keith.

So, who do you think the fastest is? Again, this isn't cone - just pure out speed !

Peace !

That's a damn good question.

It ain't Shaw, for sure.

Probably between Kane, Keith, and Leddy.

I'd vote Keith.

That's some real Sharp responses but not the right one. :shifty:

Kaner for straight speed.

I'd probably throw Saad in the mix too.

Answers in life were so much easier when we had Viktor Stalberg :troll:

I would say Kaner or maybe Handzus.... yeah definitely Zeus :D

keith hands down. kane being faster is an illusion by the way he dances thru players as keith really is straight speed. saad is not the fastest.

Give me the old man Hossa. He definitely gets off from a stop position the quickest of anyone they have.

I'm new around here but I would have thought it was obviously Kane just by the way he flies on the ice. Maybe its because his speed is so functional and in control. Kane literally broke down a defender the other night, like he was playing basketball, with a juke and flew by him.

FWIW Kane has 90 speed on NHL 14 and Keith has 89.

Keith followed by Leddy. Leddy has one of the smoothest strides I have seen...looks like he is barely trying at times. Keith really gets going in a hurry and his feet never stop. In regards to Kane, a few others have said it and I agree, he has great shiftiness and overall great speed, but not faster than Keith.

Patrick Sharp/ Duncan Keith.

Watch the games. There isnt a single player this side of Stalberg who can match either one when it comes to pure speed.

Keith is often trailing and I guess he almost always catches up, but he isn't a spring chicken anymore. I have seen the Avalanche target his speed and he doesn't catch up. Saad, Sharp, Kruger, and Jimmy Smith fly around.

Still, Kane is light and fast and quick and rarely can anyone even catch the guy to put a hit on him, that right there is impressive.

If I had to bet on it I would pick Kane. But as someone said above, Hossa still has a first step.
