My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
I said on my facebook that Jason Kidd is one of the greatest point guards of all time. I have a friend saying that both Hardaways, Payton, Mark Jackson, and Price were better.

I say Kidd is behind Stockton, Thomas, Johnson, Robertson.

Who is right?

I would say you're right.

Kidd in his prime, was an great defender, great passer, great rebounder for his size, and a great leader. Only knock on him is that he can't really score, and his FG% isn't the best. 40% for his career. But he did everything else.

Tim hardaway was a better scorer than kidd and could also pass, but no way is he better than Kidd.

I can't even make an argument for Anfernee hardaway

Gary payton is tough. I consider him and MJ the greatest perimiter defenders of all-time.. and Payton was a better scorer than Kidd. Payton could also rebound and pass. Hmmm.. idk about this one.

Mark Jackson? no.

Mark Price? No

Jackson,Price, and the hardaways are easily behind kidd

kidd is/was an exceptional rebounder for his height....a great passer...and a very good defender..not to mention at the height of his career he was a solid 15 PPG scorer...many people forget that

not to mention he was the leader of the nets when they made the finals two times in a row

i have to put payton above kidd because his defense is legendary(arguably the best perimeter defender ever) and he was also a better scorer than kidd

So i'd put Stockton, Thomas, Johnson, Robertson,Payton, and also Cousy and Nash over Kidd...guys like Rose,Westbrook, and Paul may top kidd as well by the end of their careers

i would argue that rose has already topped kidd being that he was an mvp this year

nah. Rose isn't as good/or better of a defender, passer, or rebounder than Kidd. And he doesn't have a ring.

Maybe one day, but not now. Way too early.

I would say Payton and Kidd are damn close, and I give the edge to Payton simply because his overall numbers are better than Kidd's. Both are really close though. The other point guards...not even close in my opinion.

i see your point but he has an mvp....if i HAD to rate all current and retired point guards...i'd put rose ahead of him....but thats just me

Payton over Kidd. But, as for the rest, you're on safe ground.

I think he is a second tier point guard. I don't put him with Magic, Oscar, Stockton, or Isiah. He is a better pg than Tim Hardaway, and Penny didn't last long enough to be in the discussion. I think he is right there with Payton, Nash, and Nate Archibald is up there. I just might have Frazier at the top of the second tier.

Penny would have been something...had he been healthy...he would have been an all time great. I still say Penny in his prime would be the best pg today.
