That will win 3 playoff series.

HRs are great. Solo HRs are just not enough.

I am tired of this series now and am not looking forward to getting up tomorrow and going to work.

Why live in the past? Im on the outside looking in at your team and you guys are FUCKING loaded!!! You need another starter. Go get Greinke and you guys will be a serious problem.

There's a ton of ignorant cubs fans around. To bad they don't understand this is just the beginning. Good series for the Mets, they outplayed the Cubs in every aspect of the game.

I can understand the frustration , been a Cubs can almost forty years. but i would bet this Cubs team makes the WS in the next few years but then you have to win it LOL.

Kyle Schwarber's 1st inning HR was 10.5 inches off the plate, the furthest outside a lefty has hit a HR this year

As they should. They have veterans and a developed pitching staff that isn't nearly as raw as Cubs hitter. Schwarbers inexperience showed in the field today, as has Baez's this series. Too many youths all around and some haven't even had a full season.

This lineup of the future stacks up so nice. Strikeouts are something youth can grow out of, though it may be a long term problem with this power group, we just don't know yet.

But Murph is in hero God mode, Cespedes is an all timer, and the pitching staff they are facing is hot. Granderson has always been a gamer. Its just a great series and the Mets are doing what they should do to a team this inexperienced.

But let me tell you...this ain't even close to over. Whether Lester starts game 4, or you just win game 4 and turn it over to the aces...this thing could turn around quick. I know Madden will have them in the right mind set to go down fighting.

Thats what I thought in 2003

That was a veteran team depending on young pitching with a manager that didn't know how to handle pitching. This team isn't that. They stockpiled hitters because hitters can be traded for pitchers. There will be trades. There will be signings. Those teams of the aughts were built on a wing and a prayer, this one is not.

On this board I believe I was the only one not too. I want to say most thought this was an 85 win team

Schwarber's a monster. The Cubs have to live with his defense, but he's going to be one of the top power hitters in baseball for a long, long time.
