sigler, you said you wanted kellen moore. can you explain how shane waldron being oc of a team that let their head coach go is somehow a huge issue for you? i mean kellen moore got FIRED by dallas last year, only to be hired by a guy who got shit canned after losing by 100 to the raiders. how is moore a no brainer great move and waldron a boring trash hire?

We'll see. he did turn Geno Smith into a fairly decent starter in the NFL. He has thrown for more yards in his last two years than he has in all of his previous seasons, even when he started for the Jets. Smith was a train wreck before he came to Seattle. The pass plays looked better than the Russell Wilson run around like an idiot and then somehow manage to find an open receiver style that preceded him. If he can make Smith look competent there might be some hope for Fields and the passing game.

I don't know if he is going to be good, bad or another round of the same but I think he has to be an improvement on Getsy.

What does that have to do with anything? My God the guy has failed at both places he's OCed and your response is "yeah but he once had an interview to be a head coach"
He didn’t fail in Dallas. McCarthy wanted to run the ball more and take over play calling duties. He was hired in LA within a day.

Most people covering the chargers and fans don’t blame Moore for what happened in LA this year. Staley lost the locker room early on.

ah, gotcha. so getting fired isn't failing and the head coach getting fired is only the OCs issue if it's waldron.

If fans were only calling for his head since November that's a huge upgrade for the Bears.

How are his screen passes? Can he scheme WRs open or does he run them into piles?

You realize the Chargers are considering Moore as a head coaching candidate?
Waldron wasn't a candidate for the HC vacancy in Seattle.

yeah sigler and the raiders are considering luke getsy at OC. again we circle back to you telling me his performance shouldn't matter because he got a job interview.

Seattle is apparently one of the worst screen teams in the NFL. The more I look into the guy, the less enthused I am. I kinda wish I had the NFL pass so I can watch some Seattle games.

I'm also with @JordanSigler and on record as wanting Kellen Moore from back when he was with Dallas. Didn't think the Bears would have a chance at him whatsoever this time. And LA immediately blocked the Bears when they asked for an interview.

I'd say there's close to 0 chance he's a HC next year. I assume they have just entertained that so if they lose out on the coaches they'd actually like and end up with some mid DC as head coach, they can retain Moore as OC. Moore wasn't even their interim HC right?

Here are some stats..

In the last three seasons under Waldron, the Seahawks' offense put up these numbers:

-- Yards per play: 5.5 (Sixth in NFL)
-- 0.016 EPA/play (12th)
-- 44.4 percent success rate (13th)
-- Explosive pass play rate 14 percent (Ninth)
-- Explosive run percentage 14.5 percent (Fifth)
-- Red Zone TD Rate 51.5 percent (26th)
-- Third down conversion 38.5 (23rd)

There are some questions about Waldron's offense (red zone, third down).

Really the Chargers? That ownership is as clueless as the McCaskeys.

Left San Diego to be second fiddle to the Rams. Don’t own their own stadium. Got Staley instead of an offensive coach to go along with their young franchise QB. Drafted the wrong WR in 1st round last year. Also their defense suck with Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack in the roster?
