He's a bust, but he probably isn't as talented of a WR as he was when he chose to give up football.

Wouldn't be too good IMO. Too small for NFL is what I've always thought.

Wes Welker does pretty well for himself.

His stats at Notre Dame were inflated, because of the system they played. It was a spread/pass happy system under Charlie Weis and Jimmy Clausen. I don't think he could be a star, but he could be a real solid role player, in the Welker mold.

But, him "staying" with baseball is obvious. He's making good money playing baseball. NFL teams wouldn't throw ridic money at him, he'd have to go on a small deal and work his way up. Very tough to do, in a sport where you could get injured on any play. Here he has a contract.

Also, the NFL may not even have a season. So, for him to "quit" baseball and get into football mode, could mean he could be going without a paycheck for a full year before he even gets to try out and work out with a team. He may be a bad baseball player, but he's not an idiot.

On top of all that, he's only 26 years old. He IS a bust thus far, but i wouldn't write him off just yet.

I've always thought any man concerned about his future should choose baseball over football, if given the opportunity. Longer career and healthier retirement...plus, you know your name after you hang it up.

LOL exactly.

The major problem facing him this year, is, really, not his problem, but our problem. He can't be send to the minors anymore, without clearing waivers. So he's a lock to make the team. If we do try to sneak him through waivers and send him to the minors, he'll get picked up by somebody else and continue his career elsewhere. Either way, he's staying with baseball.

Btw, I think i now have a headache after seeing all that constant movement in your signature. lol
