Lame first episode. Going forward I think I’m going to let the show finish then read reviews

It is supposed to pick up speed. Slow burn to stretch episode #'s irritates me. But I will stick with it.

It's a moody show, I like it. And Amy Adams is captivating.

First time I ever saw Amy Adams in something was Catch Me If You Can. She was great in that, and has been solid in everything else I've seen her in. Mind you, that's not a lot.

Adams is always great, so is Patricia Clarkson.

That is some seriously dark subject matter. Lets follow the adventures of a self loathing, depressed, drunken, self-harming, journalist, while she tries to uncover the truth about young girls being murdered, while she hangs with her psycho family, and flashes back to death scenes from her completely messed up childhood.

Feel good show of the summer. I'll try to hang in there but if this gets heavier I may have to bail.

Loved the imagery and contrast of her pulling up to her mothers mini-mansion in her raggedy car.

"trash from old money"

By the third episode, this so-called dark and heavy drama has become high comedy. What a swizz.

I just watched E 2-3, that felt like a chore. It's well made but any chance we go one week without dead girls?

I just coudn't stop laughing at the roller skates and lollipop motifs. Do all pre teen or teenage girls in Missouri aspire to be Heather Graham from Boogie Nights? It is very overwraught, and awfully self conscious about being "dirty." I get that it is the type of show that has allusions, and mini easter egss, and whatnot, but that hardly carries a drama.

Ooooh, did you see the word "dirt" written on her trunk?

The girls acting like Lolita is heavy handed, I guess the sister is supposed to be nuts.

There is shit written everywhere, E-3 on her car door “scared” is scratched into the paint.

I really wanted to like this, but they are making it tough.

I got a favor to ask, I have the last 3 episodes on the DVR, we're not sure we want to invest the time catching up. I haven't read anything ITT since my last post, recommendations, watch the last 3 or nah.

Again please no spoilers in case we go for it.

I say no. Feels more like a chore than enjoyment. And I'm a big fan of AA and PC
